PM Imran Khan sets to address public gathering in Mandi Bahauddin today

MANDI BAHAUDDIN: Ahead of Punjab local government (LG) polls, Prime Minister Imran Khan is set to address a public gathering in Mandi Bahauddin today.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has expedited electioneering of upcoming Punjab LG polls under the supervision of PM Imran Khan. The first phase of Punjab LG polls will be held on May 29 in 17 districts, as per the announcement of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib said in a press conference that PM Imran Khan will address a public gathering in which he will be warmly welcomed by the people of Mandi Bahauddin to thank him for major development projects.

Habib termed the opposition leaders as a group of blackmailers after they were held accountable for looting the national wealth.

PTI pulls socks up for PM-led political campaign ahead of LG polls

Prime Minister Khan had decided to lead the political campaign of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for upcoming local government (LG) polls in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) following the advice of the party parliamentarians, according to News360.

PM Imran Khan had taken the decision to lead the PTI campaign for LG polls by himself after witnessing a defeat in the first phase of KP LG elections.

After diverting all focus of the upcoming LG polls, the federal cabinet session had been deferred once again in the first week of February by the premier as he went to address a public gathering in Quetta.

On February 1, the federal cabinet session had been deferred as PM Imran Khan attended the distribution ceremony of Sehat Insaf Cards in Bahawalpur.

PM Imran Khan shifts focus to Punjab LG polls

The member of PTI central executive committee (CEC) Farrukh Habib had unveiled the ruling party’s plan that PM Imran Khan decided to join the public movement following the wishes of the PTI lawmakers.

He had detailed that PTI will launch a nationwide mass contact campaign in which the federal government will make nationals aware of the achievements. The premier will address big public meetings across the country.

PM Khan is scheduled to address a public gathering in Quetta and Faisalabad on February 9.

Moreover, PM Imran Khan had also directed its parliamentary boards to club all matters related to upcoming LG polls and submit a complete report.
