In an immoral statement during the Multan power show, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said that Maryam Nawaz always took my name in her speech which she should avoid for not letting her husband gets angry.

Addressing the Multan rally that was attended by thousands of PTI activists on Friday night, Imran Khan delivered an immoral statement, saying, “I was sent a video of Maryam’s speech on social media yesterday. He mentioned my name so many times in that speech with such passion and fervour that I wanted to tell him to be careful, maybe your husband would get angry if you mention my name so many times.”

Reacting to Imran Khan’s statement, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the whole nation, especially the women should condemn Imran Khan’s remarks related to Maryam Nawaz.

He added that what can be expected of the honour and respect of mothers, sisters and daughters from those who do not respect the sanctity and honour of Masjid-e-Nabavi PBUH.

Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz condemned Imran Khan’s statement against Maryam Nawaz. He added that promoting such profanity in political culture is a poison for the new generation.

Asif Ali Zardari, Rana Sanaullah, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Marriyum Aurangzeb and others have also strongly condemned the statement.

Analysts said that Imran Khan’s statement has put Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) women and their husbands in a trouble too as many women politicians including Shireen Mazari, Kanwal Shauzab, Zartaj Gul Wazir, Andleeb Abbas, Maleeka Bokhari and others used to call Imran Khan’s name in their speeches every time.

Captain Safdar became the target of Imran Khan’s statement for being a well-known personality but what will be thought to the woman politicians whose husbands are not publically known, they added.

They said that Imran Khan’s comments about Maryam Nawaz are highly inappropriate, so Imran Khan should immediately tender an apology publically.

The PTI chairman also passed bitter comments against Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari without showing any courtesy to his political rival who defended his Russia’s visit in a press conference at the UN headquarters.
