LAHORE: President Dr Arif Alvi and Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) leader Moonis Elahi held meetings with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief and former prime minister Imran Khan after he announced to give a date for the dissolution of assemblies on December 17.

News360 explored the inside story of the most important meetings. The President came up with an important proposal tabled by the government, whereas, PML-Q sought tickets from PTI for its leaders for the upcoming elections.

Sources told News360, President Dr Arif Alvi came to Zaman Park to meet Imran Khan with a government message after meeting federal ministers Ayaz Sadiq and Azam Nazeer Tarar yesterday.

The president informed Khan about the government’s offer and said that the government wants PTI to return to the Parliament and reach a consensus on other important issues including electoral reforms, after which the date of the next election will also be decided.

However, Khan rejected the government offer sent through the president and repeated the demand for the date of early elections.

He repeated the same demand to Imran Khan yesterday.

Moonis assured Khan that the Punjab Assembly will be dissolved whenever the PTI chairman wants, but in return, 10 tickets of the Punjab Assembly should be given to the PML-Q for the upcoming elections.

According to the sources, Imran Khan in response demanded to merge PML-Q into PTI in exchange for tickets, due to which the meeting ended inconclusively.

Yesterday, Imran Khan announced to unveil date for the dissolution of the assemblies on December 17 in a key gathering on Lahore’s Liberty Chowk.
