The law and order situation in the country has suddenly deteriorated in the country after Sheikh Rasheed took charge as the interior minister has certainly created trouble for him as well as numerous challenges and brought scores of criticism.
He was previously serving as the minister of railways in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government. However, he was made the interior minister on December 11.
But, on December 13, the first challenge for Sheikh Rasheed surfaced as a blast occurred in the jurisdiction of Ganj Mandi Police Station in Rawalpindi in which several people were injured.
Then, as 2020 was nearing its end on December 29, a big robbery took place in the Melody market in the precincts of Abpara police station in the federal capital.
The robbers not only looted the shop in broad daylight, two salesmen got injured and one among them later succumbed to wounds and died.
On the same day, a German national, Noel Mathias Do Rego, was killed near his house located in Sector G-10/4 when he was returning after withdrawing cash from a bank in Sector F-10.
Now, on January 2, 2021, a 22-year-old boy Ibrahim Satti was sprayed with bullets by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Islamabad police which sparked anger against Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed.

The law and order situation in Islamabad is not just a challenge for Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed but other major incidents in the country like the kidnapping and killing of 11 miners in Mach area of Balochistan province on January 3 have certainly put him under pressure.
