Is PTI Govt in Punjab a Product of Horse-Trading?
Jahangir Khan Tareen said he formed his party’s government in the province despite being short of required numbers
PTI leader Jahangir Khan Tareen, known as JKT, revealed he was the mastermind in the formation of the Punjab government which has raised doubts if the provincial government was formed through horse-trading.
JKT is facing charges after his alleged involvement in the artificial price hike of sugar in light of the report of the sugar inquiry commission and has the support of over 30 lawmakers of PTI.
Addressing a corner meeting in Lodhran on Tuesday, the estranged PTI leader said he formed his party’s government in Punjab despite being behind in the number game.
Tareen said he did this on the instruction of Prime Minister Imran Khan who was willing to establish the government in the most populous province although required numbers were not there.
He said Prime Minister Imran Khan had conveyed to him that the government in the center would be useless without the government in Punjab.

The revelation by JKT is being deemed as concerning as it indicates horse-trading in the formation of PTI-led government in Punjab.
The analysts say the government officials should immediately render a clarification on the assertions by JKT.
Or else, it explicitly tells that Tareen used a barter policy to take the independent candidates on his side to form the PTI government in Punjab.
