Islamabad couple video scandal: Usman Mirza get life term for harassment
An Islamabad court has sentenced prime suspect Usman Mirza and four other accused to life imprisonment for harassment and assaulting the couple following a video scandal.
ISLAMABAD: An Islamabad court has sentenced prime suspect Usman Mirza and four other accused to life imprisonment for harassment and assaulting the couple following a video scandal.
The reserved verdict has been announced by the additional sessions judge Atta Rabbani today, sentencing Usman Mirza among five accused to life imprisonment in Islamabad couple video scandal case, whereas, two accused were acquitted.
The sentenced persons included Usman Mirza, Adaras Qayyum Butt, Muhib Khan Bangash, Hafiz Ataur Rehman and Farhan Shaheen.
New Sections Fortify Test Case Against Usman Mirza
The accused have been produced before the court separately during today’s hearing. Farhan Shaheen apprised the court that he did not appear in the video and he has no role in the harassment incident.
Another accused Hafiz Ataur Rehman also denied the charges against him before the court.
The speedy trial of the case against Mirza was completed in 5.5 months as the accused had been indicted on September 28, 2021. The case had been launched after the harassment video went viral on social media on July 6, 2021.
