Muzaffargarh Laborer is in Islamabad on ‘Electricity Mission’

The Express Tribune

Staying in Islamabad for the past several days, a laborer from Muzaffargarh has demanded the government to provide electricity to his area which is still without the basic facility in the modern age.

While talking to News360, Muhammad Saleem said Muzaffargarh is still without power in the modern era.

The local approached the member national assembly (MNA) of his constituency, who happens to be in opposition, who said he didn’t have funds to resolve the problem.

“The legislator told me that the provision of electricity is the responsibility of the federal government”, he told News360.

Saleem was told that he would have to travel to Islamabad to get the issue resolved so he did savings and hunkered down in the federal capital.

He is staying at a hotel in Islamabad for several days, in hopes of returning to Muzaffargarh with a promise from higher authorities.

However, until now, Saleem has not achieved an iota of success despite making rounds to the President House, Prime Minister Office, Civil Secretariat, and Parliament House.

Saleem said that he had also launched a complaint in the Prime Minister Citizen’s Portal, lamenting that he has not received any response yet.

He said that the security of the Parliament House didn’t let him inside and he is tired of visiting the offices of power holders.

“Where should I go after Islamabad and put my demand?”, he asked.
