The District and Sessions Court of the federal capital approved the plea for ​​immunity from the presence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in the Tosha Khana criminal case.

Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal pronounced the verdict in the case after hearing the arguments of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s legal team and prosecutor Amjad Pervez.

During the hearing, the lawyer of Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan filed a petition for immunity for three days and argued that the Islamabad bar has been protesting for three days.

On which Election Commission lawyer Parvez said that Imran Khan is also protesting, he added that it is important for the accused to ensure his presence in the court during the trial.

The lawyer of the Election Commission further said that he said that the PTI chief should have appeared in the court to find out why his lawyers are not protesting.

In response, Imran Khan’s lawyer Khawaja Haris said that his client is facing threats while the government has also withdrawn security from him.

Khawaja Haris said that Imran Khan is unable to appear in the court due to security reasons.

Imran Khan’s lawyer Khawaja Haris further said that PTI Chairman can participate in the hearing through video link if the court permits. Khawaja Haris pleaded with the court to approve the plea of ​​immunity.

The judge asked the parties to help the court in scheduling the next hearing of the case through mutual consultation. On which Faisal Chaudhry suggested that the case should be fixed for hearing after Ramadan.

However, Khawaja Haris requested to adjourn the hearing for two weeks.

Later, Judge Zafar Iqbal adjourned the hearing till April 29 by accepting the request for exemption from attendance.

Meanwhile, Imran Khan’s lawyers will present arguments on the admissibility of the Tosha Khana case. The lawyers will present their arguments in this regard at the next hearing.

It may be noted that in the previous hearing, the court had suspended his arrest warrant after he appeared before a judge in the Toshakhana case.
