Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has not just registered cases against the former PTI secretary-general and his family members but also frozen his bank accounts.
However, Tareen is not alone in this battle as several PTI lawmakers from Punjab surprisingly sprung up in his support and accompanied him as he attended a hearing on extension in bails on Wednesday.
In a display of support base, Jehangir Tareen invited PTI legislators to his residence in Lahore on Friday.
Roughly, 29 members of the ruling PTI showed up at the dinner hosted by the crisis-hit business tycoon.
They included eight MNAs, two provincial ministers and 21 MPAs including four provincial advisers.
The number game
Interestingly, in the national assembly (NA), at least 172 seats are required to form the government and Prime Minister Imran Khan secured 178 confidence votes last month after Senate election.
Interestingly, eight MNAs also attended Jahangir Tareen’s dinner along with 21 MPAs.
It seems that Jahangir Tareen is also showing his cards to the government and all-ready to make the master move if matters spoiled further.
