The employees of Jang Group staged a protest against media mogul Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman over non-payment of salaries and sacking. The workers of Jang Group took out a rally from Karachi Press Club (KPC) to Geo’s office in Karachi.
The members of the Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) and Jang Union President Shakeel Yamin Kanga also joined the protest staged against Mir Shakil.
Geo News Karachi Bureau Chief Faheem Siddiqui, KPC ex-President Imtiaz Khan Faran, and a large number of Jang Group’s employees were also present.
They said that they were out on the roads to support Mir Shakil when he was behind the bars.
They chanted slogans against sacked workers of national dailies The News, Jang, and Awam.
The protesters said that the organization was advertising jobs daily but on the other hand, it was firing employees.
They demanded clearies of outstanding pays and maintained that they stood for the employer in hardships.
Geo News Karachi Bureau Chief Faheem Siddiqui said that the organization had hired directors on a monthly pay of Rs 3 million.

He added that Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman was just publishing dummy copies of Awam, Daily News, and other dailies to get expensive advertisements.
The protesters warned that if the employees were not restored and dues not cleared, they would expand the range of protests.
