JDC Foundation Brings ‘First Mobile Restaurant’ in Karachi

The purpose of setting up a mobile restaurant was to make food reachable to everyone throughout the holy month

This Ramzan, Jafaria Disaster Management Cell (JDC), has completed another milestone by setting up a 58-feet-long first free mobile restaurant outside Jinnah Hospital in Karachi.

The multi-wheeler food-loaded vehicle will be utilized to prepare free sehr and iftar, under JDC’s free food distribution program.

JDC foundation, a charitable and non-profit organization, was founded in 2009.

Initially, the welfare organization started with a small donation camp in Karachi for flood victims.

Slowly and gradually, with strong determination, the JDC foundation scattered throughout the province.

Taking a tour of the 58-feet long mobile restaurant in Karachi, chairperson Syed Zafar Abbas Jafri explained how a dedicated team of chefs was working to prepare food and what items were being served in sehr and iftar.

For sehr, Zafar told that a variety of seasonal fruits, strawberry shake and omelette sandwich are served.

Moreover, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) representative praised the initiative of the JDC chairperson for arranging the ‘first free mobile restaurant’ in Karachi outside Jinnah hospital.

Jafri said, “The purpose of setting up this mobile restaurant was to make it easy for the poor in Karachi city to break their fast”.

He added that JDC has arranged tables across Karachi as well where food was served free and also urged for donations.

Despite serving food, the organization has worked in relief programs post natural calamities.
