Senior journalist Amir Mateen has slammed The Friday Times founder Najam Sethi over delivering exceptional remarks against Prime Minister Imran Khan in which he had asked the premier to step down, otherwise, he will be thrown out in an insulting way.
Amir Mateen, a senior journalist and the co-host of a current affairs programme Mad-e-Muqabil on GTV, said in a Twitter thread, “Najam Sethi is the one who had convinced Farooq Leghari to topple Benazir Bhutto government and became the ‘first uncle’ of the accountability. He had insisted on carrying out ‘bloody’ accountability after forming a national government for two years.”

Mateen added, “He [Sethi] is now turned into the uncle of democracy. This is the real story of Pakistan but people forget the past.”
“His wife Jugnu Mohsin had voted for PTI and expected to get some reward. But, Imran Khan turned out to be a careless man as he did not give any reward. This leads him to turn on the complaining mode. Imran Khan would have been an ineligible prime minister but his [Najam Sethi] complaints are for something else. You had been treated with shoes by Nawaz Sharif too.”
“Then, you became the uncle of Pervez Musharraf’s enlightenment and misguided the whole generation of the journalists with the pack of Safma [South Asian Federation of Media Association]. Now, you become the uncle of democracy following the agenda of some foreign friends. What do you want now? Do you have any principles to follow? It will not work.”
Amir Mateen said that Imran Khan has many defects and they have been spotted by them. He added that his TV programme had been closed by him but they continued to fight. He asked Sethi to reveal his agenda.
The journalist said that he was earlier an ‘I’m the dim’ but then he had voted to him. He was so careless that he did not pardon and then he ran a website from foreign funding which is still being operated. ‘I’m the dim’ is now ready to depart but he did not understand that who is actually running the country, criticised Mateen.
