Journalist criticises exchange of flirty comments between Najam Sethi, female host

A woman journalist has strongly criticised the exchange of flirty comments between senior anchorperson Najam Sethi and 24NewsHD female host Farwa Waheed during a TV program.

During a TV show, female host Farwa Waheed comment on Najam Sethi’s predictions that since her childhood, she was hearing about ‘Chirya [Bird]’ of the senior anchorperson and it seems that the hosts could be replaced including her time to time but his ‘Chirya’ will exist all the time.

To this, Sethi replied, “How can I see your comment as there are two dimensions of this comment? This comment can be called a compliment as you are watching this for a long time. In other words, people would be thinking that I become an elderly man.”

The female host said, “But you don’t look like over 60s.” Najam Sethi said, “Then, I would like to say, Farwa, you know how to go on.” The female host laughed at his comment.

Criticising the flirty comments between the two,  a woman journalist namely Sehrish Maan said on Twitter that such bigots have created a myth in the media that if a girl is successful, then she has made some compromises.

Maan was of the view that such dirty men are the root cause of creating problems for women during their professional careers. She further slammed Sethi, saying that the man should know how he is talking to a girl of his granddaughter’s age.
