Journalist Habib Akram Gets Erroneously Criticized

Pakistani journalist Habib Akram was criticized by journalist Wajahat Masood for not criticizing Pakistan Army like he had criticized political figures.

Habib Akram, who is associated with Dunya News, wrote a column in Dunya Daily ahead of the Senate election chairman but his approach was erroneously criticized by journalist Wajahat Masood.

He pointed out the qualities and drawbacks of both candidates for Senate chairman including Yusuf Raza Gillani nominated by Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and Sadiq Sanjrani nominated by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Habib Akram wrote a balanced piece that surrounded the current political situation.

However, another journalist Wajahat Masood showed up as a critic of writing and apparently, the approach of journalist Habib Akram.

Wajahat wrote that he was disappointed to read Habib Akram’s column.

He riled Habib for finding faults in Gillani and Sanjrani and called for such ‘port-mortem’ of the former military dictators including Zia-ul-Haq, Pervaiz Musharraf and Yahya Khan.

Wajahat did not take into account Habib Akram’s opinionated piece regarding Senate chairman candidates was an analysis on the current state of affairs.

He could not talk about just military dictators and do nitpicking when an important election was impending.

With Senate polls around the corner, Wajahat’s demand and criticism on Habib Akram’s column seem erroneous.
