ISLAMABAD: Journalists have dragged a fellow reporter away when he tried to ask a question to Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Parliament House.

A reporter from a private news channel had been dragged back by fellow journalists when he tried to ask a question from PM Imran Khan in the Parliament House. In a video clip, the premier was seemingly trying to answer the volley of queries of the journalists while going for a high-level meeting.

A video shared by ARY News reporter Abdul Qadir showed one of the journalists as saying that Sherazi violated the decorum of asking a question from the premier.

The reporter named Haider Sherazi, who introduced himself as a journalist from GTV after the incident, asked a question from the premier whether he will dissolve the parliament or go for a fresh election. However, the fellow journalists have reportedly interfered and dragged him back to stop questioning the premier.

The situation turned tense after the journalists engaged in a verbal and physical fight, leading the premier’s security team to intervene for maintaining discipline.

A journalist raised a question on Twitter, saying, “Can a journalist decide who amongst from their ranks should put a query to Prime Minister who shouldn’t? Btw what exactly was against the decorum during the informal chat?”

On the other hand, Haider Sherazi expressed his point of view that it is his right as a journalist to raise a question. He detailed that he tried to ask the premier whether there is a probability of assembly’s dissolution or fresh elections in the current political scenario.

He added that the fellow journalists had interrupted his query and later they dragged him away after he repeated the question.
