Karachi citizen unearths ‘corruption’ of MQM-P’s Khawaja Izharul Hassan
A Karachi citizen unearthed the alleged corruption of MQM-P's leader Khawaja Izharul Hassan by showing his illegally construction building.
KARACHI: A Karachi citizen has unearthed the alleged corruption of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan’s central leader Khawaja Izharul Hassan by filming lavish apartments on an amenity plot allegedly owned by the MQM-P leader.
A video of a Karachi citizen surfaced on Facebook in which he was telling about the illegal construction of apartments on an amenity plot which is public property and cannot be used for commercial purposes.
The citizen blamed Hassan for illegally constructing a commercial residence on an amenity plot. He filmed himself standing outside the building and said that it is proof of Khawaja Izharul Hassan’s famous quote on the assembly’s floor, “Aao mil kar khatay hein! [Let’s eat together.]”
He was pointing out the nexus of MQM-P and the ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) for depriving the citizens of urban and rural Sindh of resources. He said that PPP is deceiving the people of the whole province while MQM-P is snatching the resources of the provincial capital’s citizens.
The citizen expressed outrage saying that it is the constituency of Khawaja Izharul Hassan where he constructed a commercial building. He further said that the area is deprived of basic infrastructure as there is no water, gas, sewerage lines and other basic facilities for the residents but Hassan’s building is equipped with all facilities.
It is pertinent to mention here that PPP and MQM-P are allies in the centre and Sindh province. Moreover, under a political settlement between the ruling PPP and MQM-P, the Sindh government has decided to remove Murtaza Wahab as Karachi Administrator and nominated Dr Saifur Rehman for the position.
