Harassed For Pay: Karachi Female Cop Pleads Help
The allegedly harassed policewoman decried that her financial condition was getting worst every passing day
KARACHI: A contractual policewoman of Karachi was allegedly harassed by officials of the accounts department who have not released her salaries for months, News360 learned on Tuesday.
Afshan is deployed in the Karachi police’s Shah Latif Town Anti-Encroachment Cell.
She told News360 that her allowances and salaries for the last 18 months were unpaid.
She accused the accountant named Sharjeel and his accomplices for harassing her on different pretexts.
Afshan said, “I can not fulfill illicit desires of the harassers”.

She demanded Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to take notice of the issue and order to carry out a departmental action against them.
Further, as the issue came to limelight, Anti-Encroachment Director Tariq Dharejo took notice of it.
The official ordered a probe into the accusations levelled by Afshan against accounts department officials.
He said that the suspects would face punitive action if the harassment charges were proved.
Further, Anti-Encroachment Director has sent recommendation to the Sindh Chief Minster to extend contract of the policewoman.
Dharejo said that all pending salaries and allowances would be released after the approval of extension in contract.
