Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has been banned from entering Karachi Press Club (KPC) after he used derogatory language against journalists.
KPC condemned the profane language used by the ex-cricketer and barred his entry into the club.
The press club’s working committee said that journalists had rendered immense sacrifices for the freedom of expression.
They added that the words Rashid Latif used for the media workers were reprehensible.

“It does not befit any honorable person to use such language”, KPC officials said.
The committee expressed that the former cricketers should name the journalist with whom he held a grudge.
Rashid Latif should initiate legal action against him, the panel suggested.
They expressed that the journalist community is united and organized and those pointing fingers at the sacred profession deserved no leniency.
KPC officials said that they were deeply concerned about the mud thrown by Rashid Latif at journalists.
They warned the ex-cricketer that such foul language against media workers would not be tolerated.
The working committee said that Rashid Latif’s character wasn’t hidden from anyone and his former teammates had accused him of hurling death threats.
