The long-awaited spell of monsoon rain in Karachi started a few days back with heavy to scattered showers in different parts of the city and citizens are witnessing several electrocution incidents since then.

Rahil, a shopkeeper, was on his way to the hospital when electrocuted and his wife gave birth to their son minutes after the monsoon rain claimed his life.
As per details shared by police, the death cause is unclear but the witnesses have been claiming it was electrocution.
On the other hand, a minor died of electric shock amid yesterday’s thunderstorm in Qasba Colony.
Pakistan Meteorological Department intimated prior about the heavy rainfall expected this week and Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) had gird up the loins.
The roads flooded with rainwater were drained in a few hours last night and the traffic flow remained smooth.
The Met Department has released the statistics of rainfall in different parts of the city in the last 24 hours.
The highest rainfall of 70 millimeters (mm) was recorded in Gulshan-e-Hadid, 37mm at PAF Base Faisal, 36mm at PAF Masroor, and 35mm at Nazimabad.
