Karachi Traffic Police Launches Female Squad on Bikes
Initially, 4 bikers have been deployed on Shahrah-e-Faisal who are responsible for traffic surveillance from Metropole Hotel to Star Gate
In a historic first, Karachi Traffic Police (KTP) added another feather in its cap and launched a female squad that would patrol on bikes to help citizens on roads.
The initiative came nearly a month after the launch of the bicycle squad in the city to spot the causes of traffic jams besides violation of laws.
The female traffic wardens would patrol on Shahrah-e-Faisal to improve flow and help citizens during traffic snarl-ups.

Not only this, the bike-mounted female constables would be providing services in case of emergencies like accidents, car breakdowns, and other problems.
Initially, 4 bikers have been deployed on Shahrah-e-Faisal who are responsible for traffic surveillance from Metropole Hotel to Star Gate.
Not only this, the courageous constables also edify the citizens about the use of helmets while driving a two-wheeler.
The squad has been limited from issuing fines but they have been equipped with walkie-talkies to report emergencies.
One of the female wardens expressed that she was fond of riding a motorbike since childhood and passionate about trying innovative ideas.
The squad members seemed satisfied with the conduct of the motorists and said they not just commend the idea but encourage them too.
The traffic police of Karachi have plans to increase the number of female constables on bikes in the near future.
