A video showed Jang newspaper’s senior reporter Hanif Khalid went viral on social media in which he gave flattering remarks about Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the incumbent government during the press conference of Kissan Package.

Yesterday, PM Shehbaz Sharif announced a mega Kissan Package under which farmers will be provided subsidized loans worth Rs1,800 billion. PM Sharif said this mega package also includes loans worth 50 billion rupees for the youth of rural areas that want to invest in the agriculture sector. For this purpose, the government will provide 6.4 billion rupees as a subsidy on the markup of loans.

Regarding relief in electricity bills for farmers, the premier said that there are around 300,000 Agri tube wells in the country, and the government has planned to solarise these tube wells for which a massive subsidy will be provided. He said a flat rate of Rs13 per unit will be charged on agricultural tube wells.

During the press conference, a senior journalist from Jang newspaper namely Hanif Khalid was given the chance to raise a question regarding the Kissan Package. Instead of raising a query, Khalid showered praises on PM Sharif and the coalition government for providing relief to the masses.

He said that he has never witnessed such a big Kissan Package by the previous government during 55 years of his journalistic career. He added that he wanted to thank the premier and allies of the coalition government over the mega Kissan Package on behalf of the nation.
