KARACHI: Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and District Municipal Corporation (DMC) have come face to face over the occupation of shops in the Khori Garden area.
Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) estate department has started to convert the DMC offices having the market value of millions of rupees into shops, however, the institution faced resistance from DMC authorities.

It was learnt that DMC staffers stopped KMC from establishing shops at its offices in Garden.
Prior to this incident, the KMC estate department had tried to convert the offices into shops by installing shelters on them. DMC South authorities had taken prompt action and seized the shops after demolishing the shelters.
KMC Estate Department’s Director Imran Siddiqui is reportedly involved in occupying the DMC offices. It emerged that KMC tried to occupy the Khori Garden shops once again after the closure of the market yesterday.
However, the Karachi administrator has not taken any notice of the dispute.
