KMC Security Guard Promoted to Director Post

An employee, who has been recruited as a security guard named Saad Saleem was promoted to the post of director in the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC). 

According to sources, Saad was working as a local tax collector in the central municipality.

Later, a complaint filed by the central municipality officer against the internal affairs and corruption reached the Prime Minister’s delivery unit.

The local government department had sought a report from the central municipality administration that revealed some surprising details regarding the security guard being promoted as director in KMC.

During, the 2-year period of recruitment, employee scrutiny cannot be verified.

But Saad Saleem has illegally jumped to the rank of sub-inspector in Grade 8 on September 20, 2010, and in 2013 this post was upgraded to Grade 11.

The report states that the watchman has been promoted from the post of sub-inspector to the post of Assistant Grade 16 in 2016.

Although a lot of people have expressed anger as the promotions are not in line with the proposed rules.

Following this report, Saad Saleem’s employment has been suspended so far.

Sources said that during Saad’s deployment, who was promoted from watchman to director, in the Central Municipality, the revenue of the district from its resources was limited.

Instead of the local tax revenue going to the local government officers, employees like Saad Saleem used it to fill the pockets of certain officers.

This corruption has financially destabilized the Central Municipality and some officers and employees have made themselves financially stable by building assets.

According to sources, the anti-corruption probe was also carried out against the watchman but the probe could not be completed traditionally.
