Korangi Causeway Bridge Remains on Back Burner Since 2016

The construction of a bridge over the Korangi causeway in Karachi is on the back burner since 2016 and after every spell of rain, woes intensify for the locals.

Everytime after the downpours, traffic is diverted and the area gets disconnected from the rest of the city.

In 2016, the Sindh government announced to build a bridge over Malir Nadi from Qayyumabad to Korangi Crossing on the causeway.

However, due to negligence and other issues, the project has not started yet.

The locals of Korangi face extreme hassles during rains in Karachi as the traffic remains suspended due to rainwater.

They expressed that the project is continuously facing delays due to inattention by the government.
