Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan became kind to the child welder whose video went viral on social media, announcing that his father will get a government job and install a solar system in their neighbourhood.
The KP CM took notice of a viral video that showed a child working at the welding shop for Rs50 per day. He became a chief guest of the Chief Minister’s House. Mahmood Khan announced that the child’s father will get a government job while a solar system will also be installed in their neighbourhood.
Recently, a 40-second video went viral on social media in which a little seven-year-old boy was shown doing hard work as an apprentice at a welding shop for Rs50 per day. In the video, it can be seen that the child’s eyes are severely affected by welding sparks and they are close to being lost.
The video was posted on Facebook by GTV correspondent Abdul Wakil, a journalist from Tehsil Jamrud of Khyber district that went viral. Several social workers and philanthropists contacted the journalist Abdul Wakil and provided financial support to the child besides assisting him with his school admission.
News360 journalist Ehtsham Khan and the district administration conveyed the painful video of the child to the KP CM, upon which Chief Minister Mehmood Khan immediately took action and invited journalist Abdul Wakil and journalist Ehtsham Khan as special guests to the Chief Minister’s House.
On arrival at the Chief Minister’s House, the child was presented with gifts and there the child’s father was given a government job in the District Youth Affairs. On this occasion, Mehmood Khan also announced the installation of a mega solar tubewell system in the child’s neighbourhood.
Seven-year-old Wahaj told News360 in a special conversation that earlier he was an apprentice in a welding shop for Rs50 per day.
Wahaj’s father told News 360 that he is a kidney patient and he used to earn Rs500 a day by doing daily labour with great difficulty. He said that now CM Khan has given him a government job for which he is very grateful.
