14 years ago after winding up his business in Britain, Alam Zaib, who opened first departmental store in Mardan after returning to his homeland, got fed up with bribery of bureaucracy.

Alam Zaib has alleged that Stunt Commissioner Burraq Awan has sealed his store for refusing to pay bribe.

Naimat Khan, a senior journalist from Arab News, shared the video message of Alam Zaib in Pashto language on his Twitter handle and wrote that “Alam Zaib Khan sold his three restaurants in the UK and returned to Pakistan 14 years ago and established the first super store in Mardan. What did “Unfortunately, the Assistant Commissioner sealed his mort today because he refused to pay an indirect bribe.”

Naimat Khan further wrote that “The harassment of such a small businessman in Mardan, whose business services are recognized by all, raises the question whether Alam Zaib made right decision to return to Pakistan?” Assistant Commissioner Burraq Awan has assured Alam Zaib that his decision was wrong.

Shahid Abbasi, a senior journalist associated with V News, while commenting on Naimat Khan’s tweet, wrote that “I had the opportunity to go to Mardan and visit this mart a few weeks ago, despite market culture of counterfeit products in area, the variety of services and goods here The rates were excellent. Assistant Commissioner Burraq Awan has served by closing an important point of the area instead of creating a business-people-friendly environment.

Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan of Jamaat-e-Islami has also raised his voice on injustice done to well-known businessman of Mardan and demanded clarification from administration.
