A member of the minority community has been held by the security agencies for his alleged involvement in the Johar Town blast in Lahore on Wednesday and his claims have turned the probe baffling.

The explosion had killed three people and left 21 injured.

The suspect is a resident of Mehmoodabad area of Karachi, sources said and added that it was surprising as a member of the Christian community has rarely been involved in a terrorist attack in Pakistan.

The security agencies moved the alleged architect of the blast as his car has been used in the incident.

The suspect frequently traveled between Karachi, Lahore, and Dubai but he could not convince the interrogators regarding the purpose of his travel history.

Further details of the information retrieved from the suspect haven’t been disclosed yet.

Dawn reported that David was the person who held the ownership of the car used in the blast after it was reportedly theft from Gujranwala in 2010.

The car was sold multiple times and its possession landed last with the man held.

The suspect turned down the charges of involvement in the attack during the investigation, according to Dawn.

He told the inquisitors that when he last visited Dubai, a friend of his friend in Gujranwala needed his car for a few days.

Acquiescing to the demand, David told he returned to Pakistan and handed over his car to a masked man who told he was wearing it because of the pandemic situation.

The police are searching for the other suspect who is said to have driven the vehicle to the location it was last parked and exploded.
