The government set an investment target of Rs100 billion for the Lahore Central Business District (CBD) project by March 2022.

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister’s Special Assistant on Information and Special Initiatives Hasaan Khawar has said that the provincial government set an investment target of Rs100 billion for the Lahore Central Business District (CBD) project by March 2022.
Hasaan Khawar said in a statement that the new eco-friendly CBD project of establishing a city within Lahore will generate the private investment worth Rs1,000 billion and the business activity of Rs2,500 billion in the coming days.
He said that the Lahore Central Business District (CBD) project aimed at establishing an eco-friendly city having blue roads, smart trees, green buildings and underground traffic with a quality to bring investments worth billions besides enhancing the business activities.

According to the website, it will be Pakistan’s first central business district named “CBD Punjab” that puts the country on the map of global business districts to ensure bespoke and innovative real estate supply to contribute to the national development.
Lahore Central Business District Development Authority (LCBDDA) has been mandated to develop environment-friendly, urban regeneration projects on vertical principles that would enhance the characteristics of the city through walkable urbanism and smart infrastructure.
The Punjab government spokesperson also interacted with the journalists during his visit to the construction site of the first project of the scheme named CBD Prime, a remarkable project of five high-rise signature towers, and said that Rs40 billion investment has been generated from the project so far after its initiation at the cost of just Rs100 million.
The volume of investment will be increased up to Rs100 billion by March 2022 and Rs200 billion in the next year.
Prime Minister Imran Khan had laid the foundation-stone of the country’s first-ever Central Business District (CBD) in Lahore, a commercial hub aimed at ensuring ease-of-doing-business.
He had announced that the project would touch the trading volume of Rs6,000 billion with its first phase of Commercial and Business Hub to generate activities worth Rs1,300 billion.
Imran Khan said the CBD would ensure environment-friendly policies with its unique features of botanical gardens and green spaces. He added that he was the biggest supporter of preservation and conservation of the environment and always emphasized considering the environmental aspect while carrying out any project.
