Lahorites Alter Covid-19 Slogan ‘SOPs Ko Naa, Shopping Ko Haan’

Lahorites Covid-19

Despite stress upon precautionary guidelines amid covid-19 cases in the city, Lahorites are losing control when it comes to the launch of a ready-to-wear collection by Suffuse or going for groceries to Imtiaz Supermarket.

A complete lockdown in Lahore has been recommended by the Punjab health department and the district administration to mitigate the spread of virus.

Following lockdown rules, all public places including restaurants, wedding halls, and stations will be closed, whereas shops dealing in essential items will remain operative for a limited time period in Lahore.

Sources said that the coronavirus infection rate in Lahore has jumped to 23% while the situation is deteriorating further, thereby a complete lockdown is highly recommended.

A Twitter user posted a video that showed people busy doing groceries at Imtiaz Supermarket, all of them equally contributing to violating SOPs.

Moreover, writer and activist Nuzhat Saadia Siddiqi posted some photos from the launch of the Pret collection of Suffuse by Sana Yasir and recalled the words once used by Provincial Minister For Primary & Secondary Healthcare Dr Yasmin Rashid for calling Lahorites ‘jahil’ (illiterate), which was condemned by PML-N leaders who sought her resignation.

Siddiqi asked authorities to take action against the brand which enabled open flouting of covid-19 SOPs and questioned Lahorites ‘where they would wear the dresses to?’.
