The Dua Zehra case has taken another turn as the lawyer secured bail from a local court in Mansehra that had helped the girl and her husband, Zaheer Ahmed, to flee and vanish from the public appearance.
The lawyer, who had assisted Dua Zehra and Zaheer Ahmed to vanish from the public appearance and their secret marriage, secured bail in the high-profile case. The lawyer had been arrested from Haripur Hazara by the police.
In another development, the largest-ever medical board comprising 10 experts was constituted by the Sindh Health Department on Tuesday to determine the age of Dua Zehra. The board also includes experts in radiology, gynaecology, dentistry and forensics.

Professor Saba Sohail, Principal of Dow Medical College, will head the 10-member medical board and its meeting was convened on June 29 at Services Hospital Karachi.
Earlier, a judicial magistrate in Karachi ordered the Sindh health secretary to form a medical board of doctors to determine the age of Dua Zehra.
Dua Zehra to be brought to Karachi
The Sindh government has given permission to the police department to bring Dua Zehra, sources told News360.
Police teams will leave Karachi for Lahore this evening and after approaching the concerned police station, Dua Zahra will be brought back to Karachi.
Police will reach Punjab and submit the permission letter to the Punjab Home Department for getting permission to transport Dua Zehra to Karachi, sources added. After getting permission, Zehra will be brought to Karachi. She is likely to undergo another medical examination by the fresh medical board in Karachi.
SC verdict
A week ago, the Supreme Court (SC) Karachi Registry dismissed the petition of Dua Zehra’s father Mehdi Kazmi after he sought withdrawal of his plea challenging the verdict of the Sindh High Court (SHC).

Justice Akhar remarked that the petitioner should move to the civil court if he is willing the get some relief. Justice Shah remarked that the court knew the parents’ condition but the girl married on her own choice and she has her rights as well. “You should meet the girl for six to eight hours from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm to ascertain whether she is facing pressure or not.”
“What will you do if your daughter refuses to go with you. Your daughter said that she is happy.” The court later reserved the verdict.
Kazmi’s lawyer sought withdrawal of the petition. In its verdict, the SC dismissed the plea and ordered the petitioner to approach the concerned courts.
Lawyer Jibran Nasir told the media that they will approach the concerned court which is high court to order the provincial health secretary to form a medical board to ascertain the age of the girl. He announced filing a constitutional petition to the high court.
To a question, he said that the doctors will decide on whether the girl will be summoned to Karachi or not. Answering another question, he said that they did not discuss handing over the custody of Dua Zehra to her parents.
