The Lahore High Court (LHC) adjourned the hearing of appeals against Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz’s election till 12:30 pm tomorrow.

A five-member full bench headed by Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan heard the appeals of Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz Sharif regarding the election on Wednesday, June 29.

The five-member full bench comprised Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan, Justice Shahid Jamil Khan, Justice Shahram Sarwar Chaudhry, Justice Muhammad Sajid Mehmood Sethi and Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh.

Advocate General Punjab Shehzad Shaukat appeared on behalf of the Punjab government and Additional Attorney General Mirza Nasr Ahmed appeared on behalf of the federal government.

Imtiaz Siddiqui, Safdar Shaheen Pirzada advocates appeared on behalf of the appellants while Mansoor Usman Awan Advocate appeared on behalf of Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz and Ahmed Owais Advocate appeared on behalf of the President.

The court asked Ahmed Owais Advocate if he would like to comment on the remarks made in the decision regarding the governor and the president.

Justice Sajid Mehmood Sethi said that suppose they also blow up the notification of oath? Then to the extent of remarks, the matter will remain?

The court inquired whether the decisions issued under the jurisdiction of Article 186 of the Constitution could be applied from the past.
