Lifetime disqualification to be ended, says Ishaq Dar
PML-N senior leader and former finance minister Ishaq Dar said that the coalition government will end lifetime disqualification.
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader and former finance minister Ishaq Dar said that the coalition government will end lifetime disqualification and a law will be brought to the parliament.
Speaking exclusively to Dunya News, the Federal Finance Minister said that F-62-1 of the constitution is silent and the lifetime disqualification will be ended through legislation. He said that they will bring a law to the Parliament. Dar said that Nawaz Sharif was wrongly disqualified and the law needs to be changed.
He said that the PTI should be banned as the prohibited fundingbeen received by the political party has proven, Dunya News reported.
While talking to the media in London, Dar said that PTI was facing a high risk of a ban following the prohibited funding verdict. Regarding the lifetime disqualification law, he said three persons have been victimised by the disqualification law and the fourth would be Imran Khan.
Dar said that Khan’s misdeclaration disqualifies him and asked people to leave PTI as it is the appropriate time for them.
He said that the funds collected by the PTI are illegal, according to the law you cannot take money from a foreign company and person.
The ECP will seize PTI’s prohibited funding and later, based on the ECP decision, the government will review that PTI should be banned or not.
If PTI leaders resign from the party membership, they will not bear the brunt of any action against the political party in the coming day. He added that the ban would be imposed on the PTI and Imran Khan will be disqualified.
The PDM has also submitted a reference to the Toshakhana against Imran Khan, yet the lifetime disqualification is not in the Constitution, our parties are considering it.
