KHAIRPUR: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Manzoor Wassan has compared the flood-affected area of ​​Sindh, Kot Diji to the city of Venice – a tourist spot in Italy – which was equivalent to mocking the flood victims and exhibition of insensitivity toward the serious situation.

A wide area of Kot Diji, a village in Sindh’s Khairpur, was cut off due to submerging of roads and railway tracks following floods. There are about 12 to 13 feet of water in Pir Guddu Goth of Kot Diji due to which many areas are submerged.

PPP leader Manzoor Wassan, who visited this village on a boat, said that he had never seen such a sight in his 50 years of political life. When I went to Venice, the conditions were the same, a private news channel quoted Wassan as saying.

The statement showed the insensitivity of the PPP politician toward the grave situation of the floods.

A video has also surfaced on social media that showed Manzoor Wassan on a boat and some people from the village came to him to meet him but his gesture was quite rude towards them.
