Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) Vice-President Maryam Nawaz endorsed in a statement that Nawaz Sharif’s prolonged stay in London is political, not medical.
In a media talk after appearing in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) yesterday, PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz said that only PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif could lead the country.

When she was asked when the party chief (her father) would return to the country from London, Maryam replied that she would bring her father the next moment if his life is guaranteed.
Notably, Islamabad High Court (IHC) had declared the former prime minister an absconder in December 2020 in two different graft cases.
The ex-premier had flown to London from Pakistan in November 2019 in an air ambulance after he was released on bail in a corruption case in which he was awarded seven-year imprisonment.
The former prime minister was diagnosed with immune system disorder.

Since then, several photos and videos of Nawaz Sharif have surfaced from London where he was spotted strolling or having meals in the eateries. He has also actively participated in the meetings of the anti-government alliance, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), via video link.
The government officials have claimed that the former prime minister’s ailment is sketchy and just to avert arrest in Pakistan while the recent statement by Maryam also signifies that Sharif’s stay in London is now political.
