The decision received flak by the PTI-led federal government while National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) also expressed concerns over the selection of partial lockdown instead of smart lockdowns in hotspot areas.
Sindh government has now interestingly lifted restrictions from Monday on the recommendation of NCOC but the positivity rate in Karahi is still around 22%.
The decision to lift lockdown has thus been termed political by different segments of the society and the masses said that the provincial government had only enforced restrictions in its resentment towards the center.
The citizens of Karachi demanded PPP-led Sindh government clarify which of the two lockdown orders was politically motivated.
They said that the provincial government technically shouldn’t have lifted the lockdown as the infection rate is still around 22%.
They termed the latest decision as shady and asked if the hospitals would not get filled with infected patients when the restrictions were being eased amid high positivity rate.
The people criticized that PPP added to the sufferings of hundreds of people merely for political scoring.
