Even though senior leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) said goodbye to Imran Khan and parted ways, they have still not been able to remove imprint of PTI from bios of their social media accounts.
Former Federal Ministers Asad Umar, Fawad Chaudhry, Ali Zaidi, and former Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, who parted ways with Tehreek-e-Insaf, still have PTI posts in their Twitter bios.
Former Federal Planning Minister Asad Umar announced his resignation from post of Secretary General of Tehreek-e-Insaaf on May 24 last month, but he is still a member of PTI on his Twitter handle.
From the official Twitter handle of Asad Umar, it seems that he is still a member of Tehreek-e-Insaaf. Former federal minister Ali Zaidi has introduced himself as the former president of PTI Sindh in his Twitter bio.
Former Federal Minister for Port Shipping Ali Zaidi’s Twitter bio clearly reads “imported government disapproved”, which seems to indicate that he still stands by PTI’s narrative.
President Tehreek-e-Insaf Sindh Ali Zaidi resigned from the party post on May 27 and announced his withdrawal from politics, but two days ago he appeared in the meeting of the Stability Party along with Jahangir Tareen.
Former Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Fawad Chaudhry announced last month that he would part ways with former Prime Minister Imran Khan and stay away from politics for some time.
Despite leaving Tehreek-e-Insaf, Fawad Chaudhry still hasn’t changed his Twitter bio. In the bio of his official Twitter handle, Fawad Chaudhry still appears as a member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf.
Former Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, one of the founding members of Tehreek-e-Insaaf, also parted ways with Imran Khan, but he could not erase PTI’s imprint from his social media accounts.
Imran Ismail has introduced himself on Twitter as ex-governor Sindh, but his ID includes PTI, which will be impossible to change, while he also clarifies the party’s website.
It should be remembered that after the events of May 9 and 10, a large number of senior leaders of Tehreek-e-Insaf resigned from the party positions, disagreeing with Imran Khan’s style of politics.
In addition to Imran Ismail, Asad Umar, Fawad Chaudhry, and Ali Zaidi, many former federal ministers including Amir Kayani, and Dr. Shireen Mazari also left, while many members of the National Assembly also left with them.
