Dr Fahmida Mirza expressed disappointment over the press conference of the Sindh chief minister and said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was aiming to lift underdeveloped areas of the province.

She added that the backward areas have equal rights in the development share.

Ruling out the chief minister’s statement that the premier was only announcing petty schemes for Sindh, Dr Fahmida said Pakistan People Party (PPP) was ruling the province for over a decade and it should answer what it has done to flicker out backwardness from Badin, Thatta and Dadu districts.

The federal minister asserted that the rulers of Sindh had palaces in every city of the country.

“Everyone has the right to education, health and development and the federal government will deliver it to them”, Dr Fahmida said.

Further, the inter-provincial coordination minister said PPP government claims to be a torch-bearer of democracy but the standing committee of the Sindh assembly didn’t have opposition’s representation.

She added that the chairperson of Sindh’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) wasn’t an opposition member too.

The privatization minister Soomro said the center gave Rs 11 billion to Sindh for small irrigation projects and questioned its utilization.

He challenged the chief minister to even drink a sip from the canal water, adding that the border of Sindh and Balochistan has converted into a drug and gambling den.

Soomro claimed that the land grabbers have a firm hold in the rural areas of the province while there were no schools in the underdeveloped areas.
