The recovery of an unidentified minor girl’s body from flood water has exposed the relief promises of political leadership as the nationals were facing extreme disasters after heavy rainfall and floods.
The political leadership is yet to awake to cope with flood disasters as it is currently busy formulating new strategies for seizing and protecting the power in the Centre and provincial governments.
The picture of a minor girl’s body in flood water brought a new wave of outrage against the political leadership which is paying no attention to the flood disasters. It showed a minor girl’s body on a mat while half of her body was submerged in the flood water.
Photographs of the minor girl who allegedly drowned in flood waters’ were being compared to the body of Syrian refugee child Alan Kurdi found on the beach.
Many social media users shared photos on Facebook and Twitter. They claimed that the girl’s body was found in Dera Ghazi Khan of South Punjab. The girl became a victim of the flood due to not being able to get timely help from authorities and her body was washed away in the water.

In recent days, dozens of incidents in the rain-affected areas have destroyed valuable property and killed livestock which is the main source of livelihood for the local people.

According to Urdu News, Rescue 1122 confirmed that the body was found in the flood water in Nowshera.
The Rescue 1122 media coordinator Nabil Khan in the Nowshera district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province said the girl’s body was found on a bank of the Kabul river on Tuesday. The local people took out the body on the river bank and informed the rescue personnel.
“Rescue 1122 personnel reached the spot and shifted the body of the girl to the district headquarters hospital, after which efforts were made to search for her relatives.
After the investigation, it became clear that the girl belongs to Peshawar’s Hasan Garhi area. After the necessary verification, the body was handed over to the relatives.
The media outlet quoted a local journalist Owais Khattak, saying that the body of the girl found in the flood water in Nowshera is that of two-year-old Sara, who is the daughter of Mubarak Shah, while the victim’s family belongs to Hasan Garhi area of Peshawar.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Monsoon rains are currently continuing in different parts of the country. Due to heavy and continuous rains, various parts of the country are facing flash floods.
On July 27, the PMD said that more rain and stormy winds are likely in Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
Heavy rains are also likely in Upper Punjab, Islamabad, Upper KP and North Balochistan.
