The most unique rape case of Pakistan’s history will be heard today. Sindh High Court (SHC) will hear the petition filed by filmmaker Jamshed Mahmood alias Jami against Dawn CEO Hameed Haroon as the applicant alleged Haroon of rape.

The saga began when in October 2019, Jami shared in a tweet the reason why he supported #MeToo movement. He claimed of being a victim of molestation and that too by a media tycoon.

This revelation proved to be seismic for the media fraternity and the filmmaker was frequently urged to disclose the name of the ‘media tycoon’ who had allegedly molested him.

Later in December 2019, the filmmaker threw off the shackles and revealed the name of the alleged rapist on Twitter.

However, Dawn CEO had categorically denied the allegations against him and termed it as a fabricated story to malign his reputation by a tool of ‘establishment’.

Then, Jami shared another post on Twitter in which he responded to Haroon’s statement.

After remaining in dark for around 18 months, the adjudication on the most unique rape case in Pakistan’s history will start today in Sindh High Court (SHC).
