The Muzaffarabad High Court has given a major decision and said that the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has been disqualified for contempt of court. After the verdict, Tanveez Ilyas has neither been the prime minister nor the member of the assembly.
The hearing of the Tanveer Ilyas contempt of court case was scheduled for 10:30 this morning, but the hearing started with some delay due to the absence of the former prime minister in Azad Kashmir’s Muzaffarabad. Tanveer Ilyas had clearly said yesterday that he will not appear before the Supreme Court or the High Court.
However, today, on behalf of their lawyers, they will assure the Full Court of Muzaffarabad High Court that their clients will be in court today.
When Tanveer Ilyas appeared before the court, he was shown three video clips of him, and what he had insulted the court with.
Justice Khalid Rasheed while addressing Tanveer Ilyas was asked whether he was in contempt of court or not? On which Tanveer Ilyas said yes, I was in contempt of court, but I apologize for it unconditionally.
The full court of the High Court reserved the verdict on Tanveer Ilyas’ unconditional apology. Which has now been heard and Tanveer Ilyas has been disqualified.
Former Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Tanveer Ilyas will decide whether to file an appeal against this decision or not, after consulting with his legal team.
