Nawaz Eyes Return to Quell Influence of Shahbaz

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz has although tried to keep her father’s inflexible narrative afloat in the party during his absence, it seems to be sinking now

Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Nawaz Sharif is probably returning to Pakistan until the end of this year but his motive is presumably to regain control of the party and quell the growing influence of Shahbaz Sharif.

PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz have taken a bitter course against the establishment while Shahbaz Sharif likes to stick to politics of reconciliation.

Maryam has although tried to keep her father’s inflexible narrative afloat in the party during his absence, it seems to be sinking now.

The war of narratives in PML-N has reached its peaked and the party’s vice-president has confessed it too.

Many stalwarts in the opposition party, who were in Nawaz Sharif’s camp, now seem to range themselves with president Shahbaz Sharif.

Former National Assembly (NA) Speaker Ayaz Sadiq also confirmed during a show that PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif is returning to Pakistan soon.

However, the analysts say the return of Nawaz Sharif will probably be to counter the growing influence of Shahbaz Sharif in the party in his absence rather than facing corruption cases or anything else.

This is being done so as several ‘tigers’ of PML-N have ranged themselves with Shahbaz Sharif during over the year-long absence of Nawaz Sharif from Pakistan.
