KARACHI: The plaintiff’s lawyer in Nazim Jokhio murder case has objected to the move for not handcuffing MPA Jam Owais by the jail officials during his production in court today.
A local court conducted the hearing of Nazim Jokhio murder case today where the jail officials produced the accused including Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Jam Owais and five others.
The prosecution raised an objection before the judicial magistrate Malir for not handcuffing MPA Jam Owais during his production in the court.
During the hearing, the plaintiff’s lawyer Mazhar Junejo welcomed the move not to remove the name of Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Jam Abdul Karim from the list of accused persons.

However, the counsel argued that the jail officials have not handcuffed the accused provincial lawmaker Jam Owais during his production in the court.
The jail officials apprised the court that MPA Jam Owais had been given B-Class in the prison.
The lawyer said that there is no such law for not handcuffing an accused who has been given B-Class in the jail. The lawyer added that handcuffs are not permitted for children and women.
The investigation officer (IO) submitted the interim challan to the court, however, he told the court that the final post-mortem report has not been received yet.

The judicial magistrate asked lawyers of the parties to continue arguments over the police challan on December 20, whereas, the hearing of the murder case was adjourned till December 30.
While talking to media outside the Malir court, Afzal Jokhio’s lawyer Mazhar Junejo said that it is a positive development in the shape of a police challan. He added that MNA Jam Abdul Karim was declared absconding in the interim challan, ending the misunderstanding that the NA lawmaker had been given relief.
Slain Nazim Jokhio’s brother Afzal Jokhio told the reports that the allegations against him and his brother were proved wrong for grabbing money. He expressed hopes that Nazim Jokhio will get justice and his murderers will get death sentences.
