New wave of terrorism hits Balochistan, multiple attacks on LEAs

Balochistan has once again become the target of terrorists. Nine bomb blasts took place in eight districts of the province, including Quetta, Kohlu, Zhob, Hub, Khuzdar, Turbat and Kalat, as a result of which six people, including a captain, were martyred and 23 people were injured. After the blasts, security was put on high alert across the province including Quetta.

There was a sudden increase in terrorist incidents in Balochistan on Sunday and terrorists targeted law enforcement agencies (LEAs) in the provincial capital Quetta and various districts.

Five soldiers including a captain were martyred in a landmine explosion during a clearance operation in the Kahan area of Balochistan.

According to ISPR, the security forces were engaged in a clearance operation in the Kahan area of Kohlu district in Balochistan on the basis of confirmed information, when a landmine exploded.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the martyred include Captain Fahad, Lance Naik Imtiaz, Sepoy Asghar Mehran and Sepoy Shamoon.

Security forces operation in Zhob

According to the ISPR, there was an exchange of fire with the terrorists during the operation of the security forces in the Zhob district of Balochistan in which Sepoy Haq Nawaz was martyred while two soldiers were injured and one terrorist was also killed in the encounter.

Grenade attacks in Quetta

Three bomb blasts took place in Quetta within six hours. Police officials say that all three blasts were grenades that were thrown by unknown persons to target the police and FC.

12 people including three police personnel were injured in the blasts.

1: The first explosion took place outside Amir Muhammad Dasti police station on Sabzal Road area of Quetta, where two grenades were thrown by the accused, one of which exploded while the other was defused by the bomb disposal squad. And four pedestrians including a woman were injured.

2: The second explosion took place at the police bridge in the limits of Satellite Town police station in Quetta, in which three policemen and five passers-by were injured.

3: The third bomb blast in the city took place near the railway track in Musa Colony on Sariab Road.

Attack on a police station in Hub

An explosion took place outside Sadar police station in Hub district. Three persons were injured while two motorcycles were destroyed.

Those injured in the attack include Muhammad Musa, Abdul Ghafoor and Amanullah.

Grenade attack in Khuzdar

Unknown persons also attacked the police in the city area of Khuzdar with a hand grenade.

According to the police, no one was injured in the grenade attack.

Grenade attack in Kalat

In Qalat too, a grenade was attacked on a truck carrying marble on the national highway.

According to the police, there was no casualty in the attack.

According to Dr Waseem Baig, Media Coordinator of Balochistan Health Department and Spokesperson of Civil Upstal, four people injured in the Quetta blasts were brought to the Civil Hospital where they were given medical aid.

Among the injured are 25-year-old Qayyum son of Muhammad Rahim, 28-year-old Zubair Ahmed son of Sher Muhammad, 17-year-old Kainat daughter of Zahid Umar and 13-year-old Bibi Hawa daughter of Muhammad Aslam.

Grenade attack on FC outpost in Kech district

A hand grenade was hurled by unknown persons at the education square in Turbat, the district headquarters of the Kech district, which fell a short distance from the FC outpost and exploded, but there were no casualties.

On the same day, unknown persons attacked the Jusik check of FC in Turbat with a hand grenade, but no casualties were reported.

It should be remembered that two days ago in Turbat, four officers were killed and one was injured when unknown terrorists fired on the convoy of FC.

After the blasts, security was put on high alert across the province.

On the other hand, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo condemned the Sabzal Road blast and expressed grief and sorrow over the injuries of many people in the blast.

CM Balochistan directed to provide the best treatment facilities to the injured, as well as directed the IG Police to make the security arrangements in the city more effective.
