Pakistani Twitter users were startled to learn that some news dailies crushed all journalistic ethics and published a condolence notice on behalf of the parents of Zahir Jaffer, who killed and severed Noor Mukaddam.
As soon as the read run their eyes over the condolence message, the Twitter users started sharing it and condemned the fact that the parents of a killer, who are themselves nominated in the case as accomplices, were given the space to express condolence.
The suspect’s parents, Asmat Adamjee and Zakir Jaffer, are in Adiala Jail on physical remand on charges of abetting the crime.
Can’t believe this got published while the parents are still in custody/under investigation. This is so obviously a tactic to protect the parents’ reputation and undermine their complicity and cover-up. Would this ever have been published had they not been so privileged? https://t.co/JfKxLWZx7R
