No-confidence motion: Sindh governor, Ansar Abbasi comment on ‘neutral’ third umpire

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and journalist Ansar Abbasi commented on the neutral state of the third umpire in the current political scenario.

ISLAMABAD/KARACHI: The Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and The News Editor Investigation Ansar Abbasi have commented on the neutral state of the third umpire in the current political scenario of the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, while being interviewed by Waseem Badami during ARY News programme 11th House, said that he was not confident of the ‘institutions’ support to a certain side [the government or the opposition], however, they could not remain neutral in the current situation.

He said that politicians did not leave them neutral in any situation. Ismail said that all politicians wait for the magic phone calls to make decisions.

The governor was of the view that he is not expecting any untoward situation and the institutions might take more time to think but they will definitely make a decision.

He expressed hopes that PM Imran Khan will survive the no-confidence motion and the estranged PTI MNAs will return and seek pardon from the premier very soon.

Ansar Abbasi

Ansar Abbasi, a senior journalist, said in a current affairs programme Dunya Kamran Khan Kay Sath that nobody has solid evidence but people could read everything.

“I’d written a column on February 17 and worked on a story on February 15. The happenings are in line with my story. Here we are all talking about a project to be performed in March.”

He said that ‘third party’ has always played a role in the history of Pakistan and nobody could deny it. Ansar Abbasi continued that he prefers not to repeat the same pattern of introducing a new project after the failure of the previous one.

“If you [third party] are willing to do something, then come forward. There should be open facilitation but not in secrecy. At this time, Imran Khan is the prime minister. All stakeholders should be asked to sit together to find a solution and they [third party] should act as a guarantor. The direction of the country should be defined.”

He suggested they should discuss the charter of economy, charter of governance, institution building and accountability should be finalised before organising fresh elections within the next three to four months.

“As Shehbaz Sharif told people, that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will be left behind after forming a national government. It is impossible. How can we leave PTI despite its massive following in the country? Any political party of the country cannot be neglected.”

“For God’s sake. Look at the situation of the country. We are destroying in terms of economy but maturity is not seen at this stage. Politics are turned into enmities.”
