Senior Journalist Hamid Mir has written an apology letter for his remarks against Pakistan Army at a rally to express solidarity with journalist Asad Toor on May 28.
The famous anchorperson said in his justification that neither he has any interest to defame the military nor he had named any person.
Following his critical remarks at the protest, Geo News owner Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman immediately took the action and expelled the veteran journalist without rendering a reason.
A few days later he was debarred from hosting the talk show, Hamid Mir formed a committee comprising former PFUJ President Afzal Butt, RIUJ President Amir Sajjad Syed, and NPC President Shakeel Anjum to seek assistance and put an end to controversies created after the speech.

Moreover, Hamid Mir recalled his previous sacrifices when he boldly stood for Pakistan Army and exclusively covered operations in Siachen and Line of Control (LoC).

Issuing an apology for his remarks against Pakistan Army, Hamid Mir added that since he too had faced a tough time in journalism, he didn’t want any other counterpart to walk in his shoes.
When taken down, Hamid Mir, known for his courageous and robust personality, had mentioned that he had come across such situations in the past as well but pledged to stay loyal to the country.
