ISLAMABAD: A Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Noor Alam Khan from Peshawar has been served a show-cause notice by the ruling political party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) besides being withdrawn as a government member of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
MNA Noor Alam Khan had been issued a show-cause notice by the ruling PTI for censuring his own party leaders on the floor of the National Assembly (NA) during a mini-budget session.
In the NA session on Friday, Khan had demanded to include the government top brass including Prime Minister Imran Khan be put on the Exit Control List (ECL) besides lambasting the premier’s vision of self-accountability.
After being served a show-cause notice on Monday for ‘violating party discipline’, Noor Alam Khan had bashed PTI KP President and Defence Minister Pervez Khattak and said that he could not send such notices to him.
Later, the federal government had issued a notification, stating the withdrawal of Noor Alam Khan from the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

Noor Alam Khan’s role in KP LG polls
The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had faced an uncertain situation in its stronghold Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, in the shape of a defeat against Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) during local government (LG) elections.
However, there had been some grounds realities for the electoral losses of PTI and News360 found reasons behind PTI’s defeat against its rival JUI-F ahead of transitioning powers to the grass-root level promised in the new KP LG system.
Reasons behind PTI’s defeat in its stronghold Peshawar during KP LG polls
Ruling PTI, which is already facing harsh criticism due to rocketing inflation rate, had gone through a surprise bounce back of rival JUI-F besides being targeted by its own sitting NA lawmakers including Noor Alam Khan and Arbab Amir Ayub who are considered very close to JUI-F affiliated Haji Ghulam Ali and they have business connections with him.
Haji Ghulam Ali is a renowned business personality of Peshawar who remained a former president of FPCCI, ex-Peshawar nazim, whereas, the current mayoral candidate of JUI-F’s Zubair Ali is his son. Haji Ghulam Ali is also brother-in-law of JUI-F supreme Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
It emerged that PTI MNA Noor Alam Khan and Arbab Amir Ayub had campaigned for Haji Ghulam Ali’s son behind the curtain instead of supporting Rizwan Bangash, sources told News360.
PTI MNA Noor Alam Khan had presented a charge sheet against his own political party while talking to a private news channel and levelled allegations regarding the presence of corrupt elements in the ruling party.

It may be noted here that Noor Alam Khan had been elected as an MNA in 2008 on Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) ticket. In 2013, he had joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and was elected as an MNA once again followed by another win in the 2018 general election.
