Oil Tankers Contractors Go on Indefinite Strike

APOTCA officials said that all loading and offloading operations from the oil tankers have been halted

All Pakistan Oil Tankers Contractors Association (APOTCA) will not supply petroleum products nationwide from today for an indefinite period.

The fuel carriers have been stopped near the Kemari terminal in Karachi, News360 learned.

The situation may create a fuel crisis across the country in the coming days if the operations don’t resume.

APOTCA officials said that all loading and offloading operations from the oil tankers have been halted.

They added that the vehicles supplying petroleum products have pushed brakes wherever they are across the country.

APOTCA Head Abdullah Afridi demanded the government to reduce income and withholding tax rates on them from 3% to 2% and 3.5% to 2.5% respectively.

The official demanded a share in the transport of petroleum products from While Oil Pipeline laid by oil marketing companies (OMCs) from Karachi to Punjab.

APOTCA also called for strict implementation of notification by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) for stoppage of commercial loading.
