As inflation soars, the opposition leaders battered Prime Minister Imran Khan on it which appears to be the biggest threat to the reputation of the incumbent government.

The opposition leaders including PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz, PDM Chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari targeted the inflation and emphasized the ouster of Imran Khan.

Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) held a rally at Faisalabad’s Dhobi Ghat ground on Saturday.

Addressing the participants, PML-N Vice President compared the prices of daily-use commodities when her father, Nawaz Sharif, was in power with what they are currently at.

She said that the people close to Imran Khan have benefitted the most from the food inflation in the country.

Further, PDM Chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman said people should come on the streets against the corrupt PTI government.

On the other hand, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari addressed a rally in Karachi at Bagh-e-Jinnah in commemoration of those martyred in the suicide bombings at Karsaz in 2007.

He said that the countdown to the end of the PTI government has begun.

Bilawal said the people are suffering from unprecedented inflation and cited Imran Khan’s old statement according to which inflation in the country testifies the ruler is corrupt.

He said inflation is skyrocketing in Naya Pakistan.

The political analysts said that inflation has become a sore point for the incumbent government and the opposition can mobilize the masses as almost every section of the society is affected by it.
