ISLAMABAD: The opposition parties have seemingly revived the infamous Changa Manga style of politics ahead of the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government ally Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi had recently hinted at the ‘safe custody’ of some lawmakers from the ruling PTI with the opposition parties ahead of the voting on the no-confidence motion against PM Imran Khan. He asked the federal government to take care of 10-12 PTI lawmakers who have been disappeared in the crucial time of voting ahead for the no-confidence motion against PM Imran Khan.

The scandalous plot from the past, the Changa Manga incident, was seen reviving again by the opposition parties including Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) just like Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) then Punjab chief minister Nawaz Sharif did it after the 1990 elections by sending the provincial lawmakers [MPA] to a rest house near Changa Manga forests near Lahore to refrain from being contacted by the PPP willing to form its government in Punjab.

In a recent development, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh president Ali Zaidi has demanded a probe against the assembling of a ‘private army’ at Sindh House Islamabad.

As the days of the vote on no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan are coming, the PTI government and the opposition parties are expediting their preparations for the political episode in the coming days.

Ali Zaidi said in a Twitter message, “On what grounds has the Sindh government assembled a private army of 400 armed SSU police guards in the federal capital?”

He added that he will be officially writing to the secretary establishment today to demand an investigation against SSU DIG Maqsood Memon for allowing the nonsense.

The statement was brought forth after the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) including Abdul Qadir Patel, Agha Rafiullah, Javed Shah Jilani, Abdul Qadir Mandokhail, Abid Hussain Bhayo, Ehsanur Rehman Mazari, Naveed Dero and Mehreen Bhutto have said in a joint statement that Imran Khan’s government is now working on a plan to terrorise the lawmakers.

The PPP MNAs claimed that the Niazi regime is now preparing to attack on the Sindh House after the violent incident that took place at the Parliament Lodges.

“We had demanded the Sindh government to provide accommodation in the Sindh House after the recent terrorism at the Parliament Lodges as our lives are not safe there and the woman lawmakers are also unsafe.”

The PPP MNAs said that they had demanded the provincial government to make arrangements for Sindh police security which was their constitutional and legal right after Islamabad police turned ‘Gullu Butt’.

They expressed fear that the police and Imran Khan’s activists of the Tiger Force are now planning to attack the Sindh House. The PPP lawmakers said that the Imran Khan regime will be responsible for any violation of the law and the Constitution in this regard.

It is pertinent to mention here that the PTI government ally party, Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) top leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi had earlier hinted at ‘safe custody’ of some lawmakers from the ruling PTI with the opposition parties.

He asked the federal government to take care of 10-12 PTI lawmakers who have been disappeared in the crucial time of voting ahead for the no-confidence motion against PM Imran Khan.
